Road Trip: Amarillo, TX to Springfield, MO

Heading out of Amarillo, we went through a bit of old Route 66 in the downtown area. I just love the colors and designs on the buildings.
There was a heart sculpture that I dragged Justin out to post with me. We love each other!

There are lots of cows in Texas. Thank goodness, because I'm fond of beef and milk.
We needed to send our postcards so we finally found a post office. This was a cute little shop in Alanreed, Texas to buy stamps, though we didn't get the cards sent until we were in Springfield, Missouri.

Then we went to the Route 66 Museum in Elk City, Oklahoma. Definitely worth the stop- the people were really friendly, it only cost $3 to go to the museum, and we found the souvenir magnets we've been buying in every state. The transportation museum had tons of old cars, and the outside area had re-created a town scene that was pretty believable. They had various sculptures as well, which of course we posed in front of.

 An old fire engine.
 T-shirts.

We did, unfortunately, find some construction in Oklahoma. At least someone was a little creative about it at the rest area. This guy was tall!

We got in to Springfield, MO, around 7 and went to dinner and relaxed. One day to go to get back to Ohio!!
